“But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy…” Galatians 5:22 (AMPC) Kids seem to live in a magical world where it’s easy to have joy over the simplest things. As adults, there are legitimate cares and things we need to attend to but they do not have to steal our joy. We can be responsible, diligent and disciplined and full of joy at the same time when we understand one simple key. Joy is not found in the absence of problems. Many get caught up thinking that they’ll finally be happy when a certain problem is solved. When they get the right job, the right home or the right spouse they’ll finally be happy. In reality, …
Keys To Heaven
“I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven…” Matthew 16:19 (AMP) In Matthew 16, Jesus talks about giving you the keys to heaven. He’s giving you authority or, in other words, you have the keys to your destiny. Imagine if you went into a store and the manager gave you the keys to the building while he went out of town. With keys in hand, you would have the ability to lock and unlock the doors. This is what Jesus is saying. You have the authority to lock and unlock doors in your future by the actions you take today, but here’s the problem. Sometimes we lock out things that heaven doesn’t. We don’t allow ourselves to enjoy life or relax. …
Be “Un-Offendable”
“Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. Matthew 18:21-22 (NKJV) When someone cuts you off in traffic, are you easily offended? What about with your family, spouse or co-workers? Do you often roll your eyes and sigh aloud? If so, you’re not alone. The problem with being offended is that it promotes more offence. When people do not learn to forgive, they accumulate grudges like a hoarder collects garbage. It piles up until there is no room for joy in their lives. Many do not even realize they are living with offence. Even worse, they …
