ACTIVATE YOUR RECREATED SPIRIT

Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) There is something prepared for the believer that many of us have not activated. It has to do with your recreated spirit.  Now, the human spirit inside you doesn’t know everything—but God’s Spirit does. When you are born again, Holy Spirit comes into your spirit. And as you meditate on the Word and renew your mind, you discover the ability of God that’s been given to you.  …

A POWERFUL PARTNERSHIP

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:17 (NKJV) When it comes to walking in God’s power, I see many believers getting into one of two ditches.  One side, we have those who are focused solely on faith. They think if they can just believe hard enough or work up enough emotion, God will do more for them.  In the other ditch, people are focused solely on principles. They read the Word to find rules for how to live, thinking if they nail the formula, God will move. Their relationship with God tends to be cold and mechanical.  But the truth is somewhere in the middle. Your relationship with God is incredibly important—and so is following His principles. Faith …

YOUR SECRET ABILITY

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” Genesis 1:26 (NLT) When God made our world, something set the human race apart from the rest of creation. The elephant had more strength, the lion had sharper teeth and the horse had more speed—but what in the world did Adam have?  He and Eve had an ability that went beyond the physical realm. God created them in His own likeness and designed them with the capacity to operate in the spirit realm. They could speak and move …

ARE YOU AWARE OF HIS PRESENCE?

Leon FontaineDevoted

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. Psalm 139:7–8 (NLT) Are you aware of God’s presence around you? He always surrounds you, but doing devotions will help you become more aware of Him. Let me explain how.  Imagine you’re standing with your back to a friend in the same room. Even though they’re close by, if they’re silent, none of your five senses will alert you to their presence. You won’t be able to sense them in any way.  Now, what happens when you turn around? Suddenly, you can see them. You can reach out and put an …

TIME TO FIRE UP YOUR IMAGINATION!

Leon FontaineDevoted

Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long. Psalm 119:97 (NLT) Using your imagination is essential to meditating on God’s Word. Imagination is the part of your mind that can transcend time. You can pull up a childhood memory and instantly relive it. Or you can look ahead fifty years and picture your house full of three generations partying around the Christmas tree.  When it comes to doing devotions, we also need to engage our God-given imaginations. For instance, if you’re in the worst situation of your life, what can you do? You can get into God’s Word and let your imagination take the reins as you read His promises to you. Even though perhaps nothing in your life currently …
