Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand. Proverbs 19:21 (AMPC)
Everyone has a purpose in life. You have a destiny to fulfill and a purpose that is bigger than you can imagine. So, what is your purpose?
First, let’s see what the Word says about your purpose. First Corinthians 2:16 (AMPC) says that we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. In other words, Jesus’ purpose is our purpose.
What did Jesus say about His purpose? He had:
1. A desire to do what God wants.
For I have come down from heaven not to do My own will and purpose but to do the will and purpose of Him Who sent Me (John 6:38, AMPC).
2. A passion to show people how they can have a relationship with God.
For this is My Father’s will and His purpose, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day (John 6:40, AMPC).
If you are confused and unsure of your purpose, think about what Jesus came here to do. Use the individual gifts and abilities within you to tie in to a purpose that is greater than just your career, your house, your schedule and even your family.
As you pursue your relationship with God and Jesus’ purpose to build His family, make yourself available and God will use you.
