And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] at the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or with her; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. Psalm 1:3 (AMPC)
If you are like most people, you only retain about ten percent of a message you read or hear. If you encounter it again, you might catch another ten percent but this means you’re only retaining twenty percent of the information. However, the more you think about (meditate on) it, the more you retain.
Psalm 1:2 teaches you to keep your thoughts focused on God’s Word and verse 3 reveals what happens when you do. By meditating on God’s Word, you become firmly planted, ready to produce. Everything you do prospers.
Finances only represent one way that we can prosper. You can prosper in your health, relationships and every other area of life.
But wherever you fail to control your thoughts, you won’t prosper. For example, if you can’t maintain a positive thought life about your marriage, that relationship will deteriorate. If you become hooked on a negative train of thought you may waste an entire day, or even a week, being upset and angry when you could have been enjoying your family and influencing people for God.
Step off the emotional roller coaster that results when you allow yourself to dwell on negative thoughts that pop into your mind. Forget the negative, meditate on God’s promises and noticed the beauty He has placed all around you.
