Then God said, “Let us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness (not physical but a spiritual personality and moral likeness); and let them have complete authority over…the entire earth.” Genesis 1:26 (AMP)
Do you ever wonder why Jesus didn’t make a grand entrance when He came to this planet? He is the King of kings, so why was He born in a manger, rather than in a beautiful palace?
Jesus needed to be fully human to accomplish His purpose of reconciling God and mankind. Only a human being could represent the human race to secure this new covanent.
According to Genesis chapter 1, God handed over all authority on this planet to mankind. The trouble is, we’ve forgotten this important truth. When believers hold the misbelief that God has all authority, people view Him as a cruel God.
While Christians are singing, “He’s got the whole world in His hands,” the secular world thinks of murder, abuse, babies dying from starvation, and wonders, “How can you believe in a god that’s so cruel?”
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God has the whole world in His hands. It’s not that He doesn’t have the power or ability to control everything, but He decided to hand the planet over to us!
God has given you the authority to govern your own life and to make a difference on this planet. As a believer, you hold a powerful God-given authority. One way you can exercise that authority is by meditating on and claiming God’s promises out loud. He has given you the right and the ability to declare His good will to be done here on Earth as it is in Heaven!
