As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. 2 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
Let me tell you a story about a man who lived in Texas during the Great Depression. Finances were so tight, he could barely feed his wife and kids. He was running out of options.
One day someone knocked on his door and asked if his oil company could drill for oil on his property. The man had nothing to lose, so he said yes. That company went on to find one of the largest deposits of oil in Texas under his land. He became a millionaire overnight.
Or did he? The truth is, he was a millionaire all along, but he didn’t know it. Something had to bring those resources up out of the ground.
You and I are the same way. When you gave your life to Christ, you became a new creation, your spirit was recreated with God’s spirit. You may not feel like it on the outside yet, but that’s your true nature on the inside.
As a believer, you have been given “all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3). His peace, wisdom, joy, favour, patience and power are yours. You have Christ’s life and presence flowing through you!
Over the next few days, we’re going to talk about how to tap into that life, but for now, meditate on the fact that in any situation, you already have everything you need in Him! You can say, Father, I thank You for making me a brand-new creation with a new nature. Your supernatural power is within me, supplying all my needs and equipping me for every good work.
