Who Are You Really?

Leon FontaineDevoted

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4 (NIV)

Who are you?

You can’t look at your past to determine who you are. You’re not what you do for a living. You’re not who you’re married to. You’re not your nationality. And you’re not a culmination of your failures and accomplishments. So who are you?

The truth is, you’re a new creation in Christ! This means you’re more than a conqueror! You’re an overcomer! You’re born of God!

Every time the devil tries to remind you of your faults and failures, you need to laugh and think, That’s just an illusion! I’ve been made new in Christ Jesus! His Spirit empowers me!

Refuse to believe that you can’t change. No bad habit can hold you captive. If you have a broken heart, it can be healed. You don’t have to accept your situation as your lot in life.

This Christian life is a faith life. What you believe, you experience. So be careful what you listen to and watch. Be choosey about who you hang around with. I’m not saying you can’t be around people who are struggling. I don’t mind hanging around with people who have problems. I’ve got a few of my own. But I can’t stand hanging around with Christians who’ve given up on their problems. Choose friends who spur you on!

Read what the Bible says about you and start to meditate on it and confess it out loud until you begin to believe it. Believe what your Father said when He wrote you this love letter called the Bible. The truth is you’ve been fearfully and wonderfully made and you can do great and awesome things with God!
