When Change Seems Hopeless…

He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. Titus 2:14 (NLT)

As believers, the blood of Jesus Christ set us free from the penalty of our sins. But God’s Word also reminds us that we’re cleansed and sanctified as a result.

The more we grasp who we are in Christ and the totality of forgiveness and redemption we have in Him, the clearer we see ourselves through God’s eyes. He views you as priceless; after all, Jesus gave His life to make you cleansed, holy and right with God! (See 1 Corinthians 6:11.)

Do you struggle with seeing yourself as a hopeless sinner (when that is not how God sees you)?

As you read God’s Word, He’s constantly speaking to you helping wash out those misbeliefs and replacing them with His truth. It’s these revelations getting rooted into your heart that renew your mind and help you walk confidently in the righteousness that you enjoy because of Jesus. His Word is your mirror to look into to see the reflection of who you are in Him. (See James 1:23-25, 2 Corinthians 3:18.)

If you wrestle with condemnation or a lack of self-acceptance, get into the Word to let it refresh and fill you up with God’s thoughts on you. God’s Word can “transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” (Romans 12:2, NLT).

You, my friend, are a child of the King. If you don’t believe it, let God’s Word remind you of all the amazing ways He’s washed your slate clean and purchased your freedom for eternity!
