And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD…. Numbers 11:1 (KJV)
If you asked around, most wouldn’t say they are complainers. Yet we all know that a good number of us fall into the habit. Many don’t see it as a big deal, but complaining is actually a sign that you are not in faith and it displeases God.
It is vital that we don’t let our faith waver and become weak. We need to pray, read and confess the Word as we believe that our situation will change. When you begin to murmur and complain about a situation, God’s power stops. Actually what you complain about rarely changes.
The way to change or overcome anything is through faith. 1 John 5:4 (NKJV) says, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” When you complain about an issue or person, it’s a red flag that you have stopped believing that God will make a way. In your head you might think you believe, but if you’re complaining, you’ve really given up.
Complaining will lock you into a never ending cycle of more of the same. This is why so many don’t see change despite a desire for it. They forget the power of their mouth.
What you say is what you get. If you need a miracle—whether it’s in your relationships, finances, physical body or emotionally— discover the power of speaking words of thanksgiving and praise to God even in hard times. Your mouth may be the only thing that is holding you back from having a life you love!
