So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:22–23 (NKJV)
Do your words line up with what you believe God can do? Choose your words carefully…according to Mark 11, you will have what you say.
Proverbs 18:21 also says, “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences” (NLT). What we say has tremendous power because it impacts what we believe.
James 3:3 compares the tongue to a bit in a horse’s mouth; it controls your every movement. Verse 4 compares it to a small rudder on a ship; it decides where you will go. Verse 5 says the tongue is like a small spark that destroys an entire forest; it has the power to take you down. According to verse 6, it has the potential to corrupt your entire body.
The more you say something, the more you believe it. If someone offends you, the more you talk about the offence, the angrier you become. Your heart becomes more convinced of the offence. Similarly, the more you speak about sickness, poverty or other issues
you are trying to overcome, the more your heart is convinced that you can’t overcome it. On the other hand, the more you speak about healing, prosperity and God’s promises, the more your heart trusts and believes that you will have what God says you can have!
Start talking as though you already have what God has promised you and thank Him for those promises every day!
