What Are You Amplifying?

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)

When we meditate on and speak God’s promises over our lives, a powerful process begins. What’s interesting about this growing process is how everything is multiplied. We don’t plant an apple seed and expect to get one apple seed in return. One apple yields several seeds, and one tree can produce thousands of apples over the course of its lifetime. Our hearts are the same way. They amplify what we plant in them—positive or negative.

In Matthew 12:35, Jesus said, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things” (NKJV). The message Jesus was highlighting in this verse was that when we lay up a treasure of good beliefs in our hearts, we will bring forth good into our lives. And today’s verse says that we need to guard our hearts above all else, because everything flows from it.

The good news is you have the power to plant all sorts of good things in your heart. If you keep planting God’s Word, no doubt about it, you will reap incredible harvest after harvest of all that He’s promised us as believers!

Let’s take some time to claim a few more verses today. Claim Psalm 35:27, saying, “Thank you, Father, that you take pleasure in prospering me!” Claim Psalm 37:4, saying, “Thank you that when I delight myself in you, Father, you give me the desires of my heart.” And claim Romans 8:32 by saying, “Father, you didn’t hold back on giving up your Son for us, which is why I know that in Christ, you’ve freely given me all things!”
