Ways To Praise: Joyful Noise

Leon FontaineDevoted

Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard.

Psalm 66:8

Praising God doesn’t have to be complicated. To praise God you can simply make a joyful noise.

We’ve been on a series talking about different ways we can praise God, because praising God is so incredibly powerful for the believer. We need to spend time in praise because it helps us to become more conscious of God’s presence, which is the perfect focus for us to live in.

There are so many ways to praise God. Listen to all the ways listed in Psalm 98:4-6: “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—shout for joy before the Lord, the King.”

This is not an exhaustive list; it’s just making the point that you can praise God with any kind of sound. Some love to whistle. Some get a song in their head and tap it out with their foot. You might be having a rough day, and all of a sudden a worship song pops in your head and you just start humming. That’s praise!

When it comes to making a joyful noise, the sky is the limit. If your

intention is to praise God, he loves it! Jump, shout, make noise, sing—he

loves it. He dwells in it. If someone plays the electric guitar or the drums and they’re doing it for God, then he dwells in those praises. Let’s not limit how we praise God!

What joyful noise do you like to make to praise God?
