Walk Out Your Potential

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
R
omans 8:29 (NKJV)

Within every one of us is
a desire to change. We
can change by beginning to
think and act more like God.
Our verse today teaches us that God planned this. He planned for you to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many.

So if you’ve given your life to Jesus, you can develop a strong desire to not only act like God morally, but also to function like him financially (he doesn’t lack anything), in health, in peace, in joy and in every other way. You were created by God to live his way.

Christians can succeed financially, gain influence and create beautiful things. When God is in you, excellence rises up. You want to act like him, and he’s all about excellence! Heaven is filled with beautiful music, streets and buildings. There’s prosperity, peace and joy. Everything in your spirit is pushing you in that direction.

Christianity is not about trying to become something you’re not. The second you start trying to become what you feel you’re not, you start running on a treadmill that leads to nowhere. As a believer, you are a child of God (Galatians 3:26) and you have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), so Christianity is about walking out the potential that is already inside you, not putting on some sort of outward show.

So if you’re creative, create! If you’re in business, build! If you’re a teacher, teach! When we get God’s beliefs inside us, we want to be conformed into his image.
