Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20-21 (NKJV)
If we’re not careful, we can spend our entire lives trying to manage and control our outer world. We focus on trying to change and improve what’s around us—our careers, our physical appearance, our relationships.
In reality, the key to change lies on the inside. Jesus teaches us in today’s verse that what’s inside counts most. He’s saying that the kingdom of God is within you and it can dominate everything outside of you.
When Jesus walked the planet, He modeled how to influence the external through what you believe and possess on the inside. If a storm blew against Him, He told the storm to be still and it died down. He walked in this power financially as well. When Peter worried about paying his taxes,Jesus told him to go fishing. The first fish they pulled up held a gold coin in its mouth, worth more than he needed.
No matter what is going on around you in the economy, in your health or the news, the inner kingdom can dominate the outer. It can dominate seedtime and harvest, storms and earthquakes, the business world and the physical world.
We need to understand this inner kingdom to walk in the power and authority that is ours in Christ. Over the next few days, we’re going to keep talking about this inner kingdom that is within you as a believer, because inside you is the key to the miraculous!
