Joshua 1:8
We all need to break through limits in our thinking to walk in God’s best.
One woman experienced this kind of limited thinking. With the best intentions, she planned to put her girls on birth control when they turned twelve. She imagined that her girls would become sexually active at a young age, but the problem is when a parent has a limiting vision like that, their kids are much more likely to walk it out.
I know that there are times to be practical, but this vision had taken root years before, when her girls weren’t even interested in boys. Early on in our kids’ lives, we need to develop a positive vision—one we would be happy to have our kids fulfill.
What about having a vision for our kids to want to save themselves for marriage? What about believing that they will find partners who love God and have the same vision?
Where has the devil tried to cap your thinking? What areas of your life is he trying to contain? Where are you struggling? Is it with how you see yourself? How you see your spouse? Your kids? Is it with an addiction? Or do you struggle to see yourself healthy physically or mentally?
Break free from those thoughts that try to contain you by meditating on what God has promised you, because God never designed you to be contained or to have to go through life struggling. He designed you to have faith and a vision for a blessed life, and to experience his promises.
