I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Romans 15:13(NLT)
Many people fall for the lie that happiness is right around the corner—once they land the right job, retire, pay off their mortgage, get married or get divorced. They assume that joy comes from the absence of problems. Unfortunately, problems are a fact of life. If we wait for them all to go away to be happy, the time will never come.
Joy is actually a natural by-product of having a relationship with God. Paul knew this well. He said: “I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty.” (Philippians 4:11-12, MSG)
Then he spells out his recipe clearly: “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” (Philippians 4:13, AMP)
If you have given your life to Jesus, you have done everything you will ever need to do to qualify for God’s love, joy and blessings. You are ready for anything, infused with inner strength and completely self-sufficient in Jesus!
Joy is a gift He wants you to have. Will you trust Him and rely on His strength today?
