Turn Pressure Into A Positive

Leon FontaineDevoted

We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles,

because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. Romans 5:3-5 (MSG)

Ever feel weighted down by the pressure you face?

Pressure isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it can be a good motivator. However, pressure can become a destructive force if you allow it to turn into stress. Pressure motivates but stress debilitates, negatively affecting your health and decision-making. The good news is, you don’t have to allow pressure to turn to stress.

Pressure only turns to stress when we think we have to carry it all on our own. God wants us to access the strength He’s placed within us to face the pressures of life.

As you embrace God’s strength and ability in you, you can endure all kinds of pressure, knowing that the result will be a growth in capacity and ability. Romans 5:3-5 says you can stay positive even when you’re facing trouble as you remember how those troubles develop patience, perseverance, character and hope in us. It goes on to say, “In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!” (MSG)

When you face pressure, keep relying on God’s strength within you and keep reading the Bible to remind yourself of how good, faithful, reliable, and ever-ready to help God is. He’s always looking out for your best interests, and He’s empowering you to rise above whatever life throws your way!
