The Right Kind Of Confidence

Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. Hebrews 10:35 (AMPC)

Does God want us to be confident?

Often we struggle to believe that God wants us confident because some have been taught that Christians are supposed to think little of themselves. According to James 4:6, God opposes the proud, which is why I’m not saying that God wants you to think you are better than everyone else. However, believing that you and God are capable of anything He asks you to do is not pride; it is faith. We are to be confident in God!

Paul seemed to understand this confidence. He said, “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]” (Philippians 4:13, AMPC).

You can develop this kind of confidence. Meditate and claim that, because of Jesus, you are ready for anything and equal to anything due to the inner strength that’s been infused into you. You are self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. Second Peter 1:3 says that God has given you everything you need for living a godly, profitable life, and that you receive all of this by growing in your knowledge of Him.

If you’re still not sure God wants you to confident, take a look at today’s verse. Your Father God wants you fearlessly confident in Him. Keep growing in confidence by meditating on and claiming God’s promises regarding your identity and capacity in Christ. This confidence is incredibly attractive, and by continuing your growth in it, you bring God glory and attract more people to Him.
