For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives. John 8:32 (TPT)
When I was a kid, we often heard about hockey players and other athletes from Eastern Bloc communist countries who tried to defect while staying in Canada, at great risk to themselves and their families.
Seeing the freedom Canadians enjoyed kindled a yearning in them to abandon their country. Why? Because getting a taste of freedom changes you. Likewise, when someone hears the gospel shared in a way that highlights God’s grace and the freedom it brings, it can impact the heart of that person in a way that forever changes them.
For example, if you struggle with low self-worth, hearing that you’re the apple of your Heavenly Father’s eye can be transformative. If you feel beaten down by legalistic religion, hearing that Jesus would have died just for you even if you were the sole person on the planet can be revolutionary.
The truth is, Jesus died to enable believers to experience true freedom—to live out every God-given dream in their heart and to rise up financially, in health and relationally. It’s such Good News!
In Matthew 28:18, Jesus didn’t instruct us to get people saved; He said to make disciples. We are to bring the truths of Jesus to every country, in every language, teaching people who Jesus is and who they are in Him.
From the beginning of time, God orchestrated a rescue plan and made it available for every person who ever abandoned Him or doesn’t know who He is. That truth, shared in love, has the power to change lives, communities, cities—even entire countries! Sharing the gospel truth is more powerful and life-changing than you know!
