For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14 (NKJV)
Never allow a storm to decide your direction.
When things come against us, it can be tempting to go along with the direction the storm is blowing. If problem after problem happens in our marriage or business, we might start to think that maybe we’re in the wrong marriage or in the wrong business. We may begin to allow those storms to determine whether or not we continue to fight for what God has for us.
The truth is, God has prepared great opportunities and blessings for us, and storms can’t take these things from us. We just need to persevere. We need to develop an attitude that says, “I don’t care what gets thrown my way. I’m going to keep going!”
When Jesus was crossing the Sea of Galilee in a boat and a storm blew up, he didn’t say, “Well, I guess this means that God doesn’t want us to go to the other side.” Storms do not have to decide our direction.
On a similar note, we aren’t led by open doors. Sometimes we think that we need to see an open door to know God is leading us there. But if God has promised you something in his Word or if he’s led you to take on a challenge, don’t be deterred. As believers, we are led by the Spirit, not open doors. If the door to a promise seems closed, kick it down!
Turn to God’s Word to determine the direction for your life, ask Holy
Spirit to show you what he wants you to do, and realize that he has empowered you to overcome, no matter what!
