I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. Acts 2:17 (NLT)
God will always have more for you to do. You don’t retire from your life of serving Him. A time will never come when you can say, I’ve done all I need to do. As long as you have breath within you, God has a plan and purpose for your life.
This sense of purpose is in your heart, planted there by Holy Spirit. He wants to lead you to see this plan fulfilled. As you spend time with Him and meditate on God’s Word, He will tell you things to come (John 16:13, NKJV).
People often call this process seeing with the eyes of faith. Instead of focusing only on what you can currently see, you walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7, NKJV).
This plan for your future doesn’t have to be grandiose, but it should stretch your capacity and excite you. And I’m not just talking to the young. Retire from your job if you’re ready for that, but always continue to go after more. Keep going further and doing greater things for God!
This drive to do more will make you truly generational. You see, every generation needs to experience His presence, and it is our job to make sure that we redesign church in such a way that they can make it their own.
When we go home to be with Jesus, the next generation needs to take over. We need to think generationally because they are capable of doing more than we dreamed possible if they are allowed to stand on our shoulders.
