Shape The Future

And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.
Genesis 1:3 (AMPC)

Your future is greatly influenced by the words you speak.

This ability to speak words that alter reality is something we inherited from our Dad: God. Our verse today says that God spoke the universe into being with his words. When God speaks, things happen!

When you speak, things happen too, especially when you claim God’s promises.

Take Psalm 91 as an example. It’s filled with promises you can speak over your life or over the lives of others. Verses 4–7 say:

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart (NIV)”

Based on those verses, claim something like this:

“Father, I claim Psalm 91 over (names of people you’re praying for) today. They will live in your protection and find rest in you. You will be their place of safety, their God, and they will trust in you. Thank you for rescuing them from every trap and for protecting them from every disease. Thank you for your protection over their lives!”

You can shape the future with the words you speak. Your prayers continue to be active far beyond the span of your lifetime, so don’t miss the opportunity to impact the generations to come with your prayers!
