Praise Takes You to the Next Level

Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34:3 (NKJV)

Have you ever flipped the calendar, excited for a brand-new year, only to realize last year’s problems haven’t gone anywhere? If you’ve been feeling stuck emotionally, physically, relationally or financially, I want to show you how to get free.

The key to moving into what God has for you next is to praise HimYet passionate praise is something many believers are missing in their lives.

Scripture describes praise as giving thanks, glorifying God, blessing His name and magnifying Him. To magnify is to make something bigger. But if God is already infinite, how could you make Him any bigger? It’s all about your focus—praising God causes your awareness of Him to grow.

Someone once told me, “If God needs all this praise, He must be really insecure.” I replied, “God is completely secure in who He is. The problem lies in what we magnify with our hearts.”

You have a choice. You can either magnify God or zoom in on your problems. What your heart is focused on will come out in your words—either murmuring and complaining or worship and praise.

You’re not meant to stay stuck where you are. There’s hope. Jesus came to set captives free (Isaiah 61:1-3). But to walk in a new level of freedom starts with praise. Make a decision today to verbally magnify God’s goodness!
