Practice Peace

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

God knew that we were incapable of earning our way back into His good books. No human is capable of perfection, so He sent His Son Jesus to take the fall for us. Through Jesus, He offers you a trade: He defers any punishment due to you onto Jesus and in exchange, He gives you peace and joy.

Jesus offers an unbeatable trade! You can exchange your feelings of condemnation and guilt for a joy and peace that is completely disproportionate to your circumstances. In other words, you can feel peaceful experience even while going through an incredibly stressful situation.

If you ever feel as though peace has slipped through your fingers, take a look at your thought life. Do you trust that Jesus has put things right between you and God? Or do you feel judged and condemned? Condemnation is never from God—He will show you things you can change in your life but He will not make you feel hopeless.

Practice peace by remembering God’s incredible gift of unconditional love for you. There is nothing you can do to earn it. When you feel anxious or stressed out, remind yourself that you have received the most incredible gift—Jesus. Focus on Him and have joy and peace every day of your life!
