Your Most Powerful Force During Trials

But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:4 (NKJV)

Patience is a powerful force that can help you to make brilliant decisions under stress.

Have you ever been in the middle of a storm where it seems like everyone around you is shouting, “Make a decision!” If you don’t exercise patience in that moment, you’ll jump from the frying pan into the fire.

We see examples of this all the time. A smooth-talking salesman pushes people into making a large purchase or getting into a risky investment by telling them that they need to act now or they’ll lose out. Instead of doing their homework, they jump on the opportunity, only to find out later that it’s a scam.

We can’t allow stress or pressure to push us into making premature decisions. We need to stay in faith. We need to maintain an attitude that says, “I don’t just get one chance in life. If I lose out on one opportunity, another one will come my way!”

When you maintain this faith-filled attitude, you can be patient, even when everyone around you loses their cool. Before jumping into anything, you’ll take the time to do your research and you’ll wait until you have a sense of peace about it before committing.

Patience will help you make good decisions. When you’re under pressure, refuse to fold. Be resolved to keep going. By doing so, you’ll allow patience to go to work in you, and you’ll be empowered to keep making the right decisions.
