“With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.  2 Chronicles 32:8

Have you ever fallen into the habit of thinking that you need to work to the point of exhaustion to do what you need
to do? Or have you tried your
hardest to change or achieve something without results?

The answer may be that you simply need to access God’s grace— his power and ability to build the life you’ve always wanted.

As Christians, it’s easy to get our focus off God’s grace and begin to rely only on our own power. If we aren’t aware of this tendency, we often slide into a reliance on our own efforts and abilities alone.

One term the Bible uses for this reliance on self is the “arm of flesh,” and it’s clear from today’s verse that it is so much better to realize that God is with us. Instead of feeling overwhelmed and burned out, we gain confidence from the fact that we’re empowered through his grace, and we overcome when we realize that we have access to more strength, wisdom and power than we could ever realize.

I’m not saying that God does everything for us. That’s not what grace is all about. It’s about a partnership between you and God. His grace not only qualifies you to receive every promise he’s made, but it also empowers you to believe and to do what you need to do to walk those promises out.

You have so much more at your fingertips than you realize because you’re empowered by God’s grace to handle anything that comes your way.
