No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)
Have you ever had a weapon formed against you? If you’ve ever decided to go to a new level with God, chances are one has come against you in some way. “Formed” in today’s verse indicates someone created it intentionally, not accidentally.
What do those weapons look like? It might be a spiritual attack, a physical affliction or an assault against your mind. It could be a group of people or an individual. It might be gossip about your business or a barrage of lies from jealous co-workers coming against you.
Years ago, I remember talking with friends who had just made specific pledges toward God’s Kingdom. Shortly after they made their commitments, they came under attack. Why?
I love all of God’s blessings, but one comes with persecution: prosperity. Think about it. You can experience healing, and people will rejoice with you. You can break free from addiction, and they’ll hug your neck and celebrate. But if you begin to prosper, people’s response is often totally different.
When You stay planted in the Word of God, and that weapon coming against you—whatever it is—will not prosper. The friends I mentioned earlier said that as the weapon formed against them began to crumble, they launched into positions they had never dreamed possible.
I thank God that it’s not up to me to be my own shield. God says, “I’m your shield, and no weapon formed against you will win!” (Deuteronomy 28:7, Matthew 16:18, Psalm 3:3.) Believe it and speak it over your life!
Keep moving forward and do what He’s called you to do, because the weapon ultimately won’t succeed. You will.
