For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. Ephesians 2:10 (AMP)
You can’t maintain passion without purpose. And what is your purpose? God’s Word says we are made to follow Christ, seek His Kingdom and build His church. (See Matthew 4:19, 6:33 and 16:18.)
Even the most mundane tasks you do can be full of purpose. You may be changing diapers or balancing budgets—but in everything you do, do it unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23-24)!
This kind of passionate purpose is fuelled by love. If your “passion switch” is turned off for too long, other loves will begin to distract and tempt you. The thing is, blessings and pleasures will follow your purpose. But when you focus on a pleasure and turn it into your purpose, it becomes destructive.
If the enemy has managed to get any little inroads into your life, shut him down. He’s a liar—and he knows that the happiest people on Earth are believers who maintain purpose. So he will try to shut down your sense of passion before you can even get going.
Get your eyes on God and go after your purpose! He has designed you to live a life that leaves a mark for the Kingdom. Surround yourself with other passionate believers and encourage each other to do good works as we build the church and reach our world for Christ!
