OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; open your ears to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.  Proverbs 4:20–21 (AMP)

Have you ever wondered why new believers often get phenomenal miracles? One reason is that their hearts are so open—when they hear God’s promises on healing, they believe it’s theirs in Christ Jesus and quickly get what they expect.

The trouble for some long-time believers is that the soil of their hearts has become hard-packed, and their attitudes have turned negative. Instead of recognizing what’s hindering their growth, they mistakenly think that God lets new believers receive more miracles, compared to mature Christians.

Nowhere in the New Testament can I find anything to support that doctrine. In fact, I find the more someone gets into the Word, the more the life of God flows into them and accomplishes incredible things!

The truth is that centring your heart and life on God’s Word and His love changes you from the inside out. It’s so powerful that it can uproot whatever has been leading your mind and “impart true life and radiant health” (Proverbs 4:22, TPT) into mental, emotional and physical areas.

Maybe you hate the little insecurities and habits that control you but don’t know how to break free of them. Or perhaps you think it would take a miracle to infuse life into your marriage. Whatever the area, realize that spending time with God in His Word and speaking His promises builds His truths into your heart. As the Word takes root, it begins to set you free and breathe powerful new life into every area of yours.
