Think of your heart like a dam.
As a believer, it’s like all of God’s promises are on one side (in your spirit), and when you get your heart convinced of the truth, the floodgates open and those promises begin to flood into your life. They were yours all along, but you just couldn’t access them before because your misbeliefs were blocking access.
As your heart beliefs change, you begin to enter into God’s rest, knowing that this change isn’t something you have to fight for with your willpower for the rest of your life. Because your beliefs are aligned with the truth of God’s Word, things in your life just start to change.
The key is to study God’s Word and realize who you are in Christ.
You’re an overcomer (1 John 5:4) and more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). You are a child of God (Galatians 3:26). You ride upon the high places of the earth (Isaiah 58:14). You’re the head and not the tail, above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13). You’re blessed coming in and blessed going out (Deuteronomy 28:6). You’re healed in your body (1 Peter 2:24). Generations are blessed because of you (Exodus 20:6). Everything you put your hand to is blessed (Deuteronomy 28:12). You have the favour of God on your life (Psalm 5:12) and you are wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)!
You are a new creation in Christ. That is who you are! Realize it; the floodgates will begin to open and your life will change.
