New Look At Angels

Leon FontaineDevoted

See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.
Matthew 18:10

Over the last few days, we’ve been discussing how God’s angels serve those who have given their lives to Christ. If you’re a believer, chances are angels have been working on your behalf, even if you’ve never seen one.

One misconception about angels is that we each have a guardian angel assigned to us. While angels do guard and protect us, there’s no evidence in the Bible that we each have one specific guardian angel. The Bible talks about multiple angels around us.

Matthew 18:10 mentions these angels, and Psalm 91:11 says that God “will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” In both cases, angels are referred to in the plural.

Is there anything we have to do to get angelic help? The answer is yes and no. First of all, there is nothing you need to do to EARN God’s help, whether that’s through angels or any other means. As a believer, God’s promises are yours. You don’t have to be good enough to earn them and you don’t have to convince God to give them to you.

That being said, just as you can position yourself to walk in his promises, there are things you can do to open yourself up to this angelic help that is yours. For example, you can speak God’s promises, and we’re going to talk more about this over the next few days.

We serve a God who loves us so much. His angels are around us, working to protect us. Let’s thank him today for all he does to bless and protect us!
