More Of Him And His Promises

Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that’s about it. That’s the human lot. Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It’s God’s gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now. Ecclesiastes 5:18–20 (MSG)

Religion is stifling.

Religious people will try to make you feel guilty for every bit of increase you gain. Meanwhile, God is all for you experiencing more.

I had an epiphany a few years ago when Zach and I were skiing on a mountain. On my day off, we headed to the slopes. I decided to try snowboarding and I was falling a lot, so after a while I was happy to stop to watch Zach. As I stood on that mountain, guilt suddenly hit me. I thought, what am I doing here? I have an inbox full of problems I should be dealing with!

Guilt started to take over, but then I sensed something else. I looked at the smile on my son’s face as he flashed down the slopes. I looked around at the miles and miles of beautiful mountains. Then I sensed God saying, I made this for you to experience and enjoy.

Never lose sight of the fact that God beautified this world for you to enjoy. Wherever you are today, God has more for you. He wants you to experience more love, life, success, purpose, passion and more of Him.

On this adventure called life, don’t allow religious guilt to hold you back from experiencing more of God and His promises. Life is meant to be experienced and enjoyed to the fullest.
