Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find… Matthew 7:7 (NKJV)
When we find what we’re looking for, we stop searching.
As a teenager I dated other girls before meeting my wife. But when I met Sally, I fell in love and didn’t want to meet anybody new—I had found her! Some might view marriage as a long prison sentence with the same person, but I didn’t see it that way. My attitude was, “I get to marry Sally. Seventy years? Bring it on! I want that!” I dreamed of a future building a home, family, and everything with her. I was ready to work hard to carve out a life for us and couldn’t imagine life without her by my side.
That’s what it’s like to find Jesus. When we discover the truths and indescribable love found in Jesus, we want to spend the rest of our life with Him—serving Him and experiencing life with Him. And when we’re lit up with Jesus, people around us crave that same light.
Now, whether we were raised knowing a loving God, or perhaps no god at all, we all seek answers to the same core issues, such as discovering a purpose to our existence, love and truth. Wherever you are in life, know that Jesus is not hiding from you. He welcomes anyone lost and searching with open arms, willing for everyone to know that the answers lie in Him (Jeremiah 29:13, Proverbs 8:17, Luke 11:9, Acts 17:24–28).
When we accept Jesus into our hearts, a life-changing transformation takes place between us and God. The door is open to amazing love, acceptance and forgiveness in Him. We can find purpose, a restored relationship with our Creator and an exciting future because of Jesus.
Once you find Jesus, stop looking—you’ve found the One!
