Living The Good Life

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

God has prearranged a great future for you. He wants you to live “the good life.” Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) says that He preplanned great paths for us to take and when we walk in them, we live “the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live.”

Many have misinterpreted this to mean that God takes care of everything in life. They get stuck in a spiritual mode of living, only praying for answers. But that is not how things work. If that were true, there would be no responsibility on our part to walk out the life God has prearranged for us.

Just because something is prearranged, it doesn’t mean that it will happen. If someone books a restaurant reservation for you but you fail to get yourself there on time, you won’t enjoy what was prearranged. Although a plan was made for you to enjoy something great, effort is required on your part to make sure it happens. You need to manage yourself so that you arrive on time and manage your resources so that you can afford to pay the bill. You also need to manage your relationships so you have someone to enjoy the meal with.

To take advantage of the life God has prearranged for you; manage your gifts, talents and blessings. Increase in your ability to manage and you will enjoy all that God has prearranged for you!
