Live Out Of The Overflow

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NKJV)

As members of His family, God wants us to live a kind of life that is noticeably different. Sadly, many believers have the same struggles that non-believers have; they don’t seem to have any more victory than someone who does not know Christ. They are going to Heaven when they die, but the power available to them for their life here on Earth seems to be lacking.

Even if someone has not yet learned to live the Spirit-filled life, God’s Spirit lives inside them. However, they may be living out of their own personal reserves rather than out of His overflow.

People who have not discovered how to tap into the power Holy Spirit provides often burn out because they are functioning solely on their own limited mental and emotional power. Meanwhile, Holy Spirit has an abundant overflow for each and every believer…if only they would tap in.

Others have experienced times when they feel they are filled with Holy Spirit, but only times. There is no consistency and they struggle to maintain a close, personal relationship. As a result, their lives reflect the inconsistency: great one minute and terrible the next.

Are you tapped into Holy Spirit’s power? If you feel burned out, you may be relying only on yourself—your power and strength. Spend time with Him. Remind yourself of how good God has been to you and spend time in praise and worship. Live a full, rich life out of the overflow of Holy Spirit.
