The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [ who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him ] will [ ever ] be put to shame or be disappointed. Romans 10:11 (AMPC)
The only person who will never disappoint you is Jesus.
It sounds harsh, but it’s not so bad. We’re all human, after all. We’re going to disappoint each other at times. We’re going to disappoint ourselves, too, making decisions we wish we hadn’t. No one, including ourselves, can live up to being everything we need and desire. In fact, we set our loved ones up for failure if we expect them to minister to our every need.
But if we learn to adhere to, rely on and trust in Jesus, disappointment fades.
You see, if you adhere to Jesus as your qualification for the good life, you won’t be disappointed. He didn’t let you down. He finished what He was sent to do on this planet, and now you can have right standing with God and be entitled to every blessing and promise in the Bible, just by trusting in Him.
You’ll never be shamed by Jesus either. He didn’t come to bring condemnation. He came to save. All of us deal with shame, so we’ve got to get our eyes fixed on Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith.
When we put our trust in Jesus, all of our relationships improve because we begin to realize that our need for unconditional love and acceptance is met by God. Then we begin to look at others with love, even when they disappoint us. We stop expecting them to be perfect and we’re empowered to love, accept and forgive.
Today, take some time to meditate on what it means to trust in Jesus. You won’t be disappointed!
