While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV)
How do we as believers move from where we are to begin to walk in more of the good plans God has for us? As we’ve been discussing over the past few days, one key is to speak God’s promises over our lives.
Claiming God’s Word has a powerful effect on us. It begins to ignite hope within us, which can blossom into confident faith. The amazing thing is that when we begin to believe deep in our hearts that something is going to happen, our lives naturally begin to move in that direction.
As today’s verse says, we place our attention on what we’re promised, not on what we can see. We don’t fix our eyes on the problems we face or the lack in our lives. We meditate on what we’re promised in Christ, because that is our truth.
Let’s continue to claim more of God’s promises over our lives.
Father, thank you that I can never be separated from Your love—not death, life, angels, demons, present, future—nothing in creation could ever separate me from Your love (Romans 8:35–39).
Thank you for giving me the power to experience Your love (Ephesians 3:18–19), and for giving me the power to do the works that Jesus did while He was on this planet (John 14:12).
Thank you that I will go out in joy and be led forth in peace (Isaiah 55:12).
Thank you for sending Jesus so I could “have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)” (John 10:10, AMPC)!
