The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed upon the ground, and then continues sleeping and rising night and day while the seed sprouts and grows and increases—he knows not how. Mark 4:26–27 (AMPC)
Everyone knows the basics of how their country works. Get a job, pay your taxes, don’t rip anyone off, and figure out how to succeed and you can live a pretty good life.
But there’s another kingdom to think about within each country. In Mark 4, Jesus teaches us how this kingdom works. If you learn to work the principles of this kingdom, it will dominate the principles of any earthly kingdom.
Let me give you an example. Isaac had learned to tithe ten percent to God, which is a kingdom principle. I believe this is why he prospered so greatly in Genesis 26. In fact, Isaac’s crops did so well and he became so wealthy and powerful that the king had him removed from the country.
Why did Isaac’s crops produce so much more than the others around him? Isaac had learned to work a kingdom principle, which overrode the circumstances around him. That kingdom principle was more powerful than any earthly principle.
Now, I’m not saying that earthly wisdom is useless. If your business is struggling, do your research. Maybe you need to advertise more or improve your product. If your marriage is struggling, talk to your spouse and start treating them better. But at the same time, spend time in God’s Word learning his principles and his promises.
Kingdom principles supersede all else. Put the principles of the kingdom of God to work, and you will have miraculous results!
