I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV)
When I went to camp as a kid, we loved to play King of the Castle on a slippery old raft on the lake. The object of the game was to try to prevent anyone else from getting on. Even if we were really tired, the kids on the raft would bang on our fingers to get us to let go because that was the name of the game.
Do you ever feel like you just can’t seem to reach the new level you’re aiming for no matter how hard you try? Maybe you want to improve your marriage, your finances or you want to break free from a bad habit, but it seems impossible.
It can be tempting to look for someone to blame when you feel like you can’t get ahead. You feel like someone bigger and more powerful keeps knocking you down, but that’s not really true.
Actually, the struggle you face isn’t with someone or something. It’s within you. Some of the hardest battles in life are the internal battles we fight to move to a new level. This is the good fight of faith mentioned in our verse today.
Think about it: whenever you have to change a habit or learn something new, effort is involved. To go to that next level, what you need is next level beliefs. You have to do what it takes to get them.
If you’re tired of feeling pushed down, it’s time to do something different. Meditate on God’s Word and it will wash your heart clean of low self-esteem, poverty-thinking and any other limiting beliefs you hold. Once you align your beliefs with God’s Word, changes come effortlessly.
