And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? 1 Kings 18:21 (NKJV)
When a shuttle is launched into space, it makes thousands of course corrections on the way to its destination. We need to be more like that: unafraid to make a few mistakes on this road called life.
Indecision can be paralyzing. When you falter between two decisions, it drains you of hope and causes you to miss opportunities. You’re better off to pick a direction and then redirect as needed.
As we talked about yesterday, often a wrong decision is better than no decision at all. Now, I’m not talking about making poor moral decisions. But often we have to choose between two things that seem equally good. In this case, just choose!
If you make a wrong decision, at least you’re moving. Even if you have to redirect, you still benefit from momentum.
Think it through. What’s the worst thing that could happen if you pick the wrong career? You can always change it! Oh, I know it might take you a bit longer to get where you want to go, but that’s okay. Don’t let indecision stop you!
Practice being decisive. You’ll make a few mistakes, but when you do, just square your shoulders back and say, “I made a mistake. It’s okay. I’ll just redirect.” Don’t let that mistake define you.
Mistakes don’t determine your worth. You get your self-worth from who you are in Christ, not from some sort of perfect track record! Just keep going. That’s the main thing! And it’s an important key to walking in your authority in Christ.
