It’s an Everlasting Love

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10 (NIV)

Years ago when I had to be away from home for speaking engagements, the kids would write little notes for me, hiding them in my luggage as a surprise.

Sometimes it would take a few days before I’d find one, but as I read their words, I felt loved and refreshed. Here’s what’s interesting. That note may have been written days before I found it, but the passing of time didn’t diminish its impact one bit. When I picked it up and read it, the love from that child hit my heart just as strongly as though they had just written it.

The same is true when you read God’s Word. It doesn’t matter one bit that it was penned centuries ago. It communicates God’s love. Those words are timeless; their impact lasts forever.

God is saying to you, right here, right now, that nothing will ever be able to separate you from His love—not death or life, angels or demons, the present or the future, or anything else in all creation (Romans 8:38–39). He’s saying that even if the mountains picked up and moved, His unfailing love for you will not be shaken (Isaiah 54:10).

Claim Ephesians 3:17–19 over your life right now. Say, “Thank you for rooting and establishing me in love and giving me the power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. Thank you that I can know this love that surpasses knowledge and be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God!”
