You are the light of the world….let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14–16 (NLT)
There’s a purpose behind your success. It’s people.
God didn’t give you the success and influence you have just so you could look good and take all the credit. If you’re blessed with financial success, it’s not just so you can buy triple of everything you can’t use. If you’re blessed with great relationships, it’s not just so you can fill up your calendar with social events.
Enjoy your money, career, influence, talents, wisdom and whatever else you are blessed with, but don’t forget your purpose to bring others with you on your journey to getting to better know Jesus.
I’m not saying that you should hunt after people to get them saved like you’re trying to beat some sort of record. If you approach it that way you’ll be pushy and manipulative, and that’s not the Spirit Contemporary way. Just aim to help people discover how loved they are and how beautiful it is to know Jesus.
When they find out who Jesus really is—that He wants to heal them, love them, accept them as they are, restore their relationships and guarantee them an eternal home in heaven, they won’t need any arm-twisting to make the decision. Think about it: if everyone knew how awesome Jesus is they would run to Him.
You see, everything about Jesus involves blessing and helping people. So why wouldn’t you want to share what it is to know Him? It’s the best news you could ever share.
