But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Luke 6:46 (NKJV)
Jesus doesn’t just want to be your Saviour; He wants to be your Lord.
If you’ve accepted Christ, He is your Saviour. There’s no question about it. When you die, you will be going to heaven. The real question is, “Is He your Lord?”
That’s a question being tested in each of us every day, in every area of life.
When you think of how you handle your money, is Jesus the Lord of your finances? Do you tithe? If you aren’t following His ways, is He your Lord in that area?
Is Jesus Lord of your marriage? How do you respond to the gift that God gave you—your spouse? If you treat them with disrespect or take them for granted, is Jesus Lord of your marriage?
Is Jesus the Lord of your destiny…of the path you walk on? There are a lot of different paths you could take, and if Jesus is your Saviour, you will still go to heaven. But are you
following the best plans for your life, the ones authored by God? Are you looking for His guidance in the decisions you make? Is Jesus the Lord of your destiny?
Today, think about making Jesus the Lord of every area of your life. Have you roped o any parts of your life with “Do not cross” tape? Realize that even if you feel nervous about it, allowing Jesus to be the Lord of any area of your life will always make that area better. He came so you could “have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)” (John 10:10, AMPC).
