In The End, You Win!

Leon FontaineDevoted

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

If a certain type of storm keeps coming back in our lives, we need to ask ourselves, “What could I be doing differently?”

We’ve been on a series in this devotional about how Jesus dealt with the storms of life. We’ve talked about the fact that we need to keep praising God to stay at rest in the middle of trouble. We need to speak positively and exercise our authority by telling that storm to go, in Jesus’s name. We’ve also talked about the fact that God doesn’t send storms our way; he is standing with us against the storm. We can stand in faith and overcome!

At the same time, when trouble arises, we need to make sure we’re doing all that we can to avoid and overcome storms.

It’s like a family who lives on the edge of a riverbank that tends to flood. As their basement is filling with water, it’s great that they know God didn’t send the flood. It’s great if they keep their speech positive. But if their house floods again and again, they have to ask themselves, “Is there anything we could be doing to prevent this?” The more you grow in wisdom, the greater the ability you will have to overcome storms and maintain your peace.

You see, you’re always going to win. When you stay in God’s Word, it’s like skipping to the end of a novel and knowing that the main character comes out on top.

Today’s verse says you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You know the ending, so just keep growing in wisdom and walking out your life in faith, knowing that in the end, you win!
