For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? Romans 10:13-14 (NLT)
Politics, money, the media and Hollywood are all powerful players in shaping the world we live in. For example, we can’t deny that Hollywood culture, morals and beliefs influence the world.
Now imagine the world-wide impact if we as believers rose up as never before to become a more powerful influence for the Kingdom, using those same tools.
I often get asked why my church places such value on television. As believers, we are called to reach nations in every achievable way with every means possible, and TV is one means we’ve chosen to use to spread the Gospel world-wide! We wanted to stay spiritually alive yet unafraid to use contemporary tools like TV, the internet and social media to become a greater influence in reaching the world and the emerging generations for Jesus.
The devil has no ability to express himself or his will, except by manipulating the beliefs of a culture or planet. So, while he and his cohorts work to influence the world toward their dark agenda, the church can’t be afraid to evolve in order to reach those same lives. While it may not make sense for every church to start up a television ministry, we need to recognize that Jesus never intended His church to become irrelevant. The world is not stagnant, so we must change and grow if we hope to stay relevant!
The methods we use to reach unbelievers may change, but the message stays the same: salvation is found in Christ alone!
