How To Meditate On A Verse

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6–7 (NKJV)

If you’re a believer, every- thing you need is already in your spirit in potential form.

If you don’t realize this, the enemy can mess with you. He’ll try to make you think God’s not listening. Meanwhile, it’s not up to God! He is empowering you to overcome, and you have the ability to transform your life by getting into his Word.

For example, let’s say you can’t seem to stop worrying. You could start by meditating on today’s verses. Sometimes I like to read a couple different versions of a verse, so let’s look at the Amplified version. It starts out by saying, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride].”

It’s saying to set aside self-righteousness—the idea that you can earn things from God. You don’t have to earn God’s promises, which means you can stop worrying about trying to be good enough for God. As you realize that you’re right with him in Christ, you will experience more peace. You’ll know that you are empowered by him and that his favour is yours at all times.

It also says to cast all your anxieties, worries, and concerns on him once and for all because “He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].” God cares about you with deep affection. You don’t have to be anxious because God is watching over you carefully.

Meditate on God’s Word in this way. Your heart beliefs will come into agreement with Holy Spirit and you’ll begin walking in God’s promises!
