We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. 2 Corinthians 10:5 (TPT)
Do you feel like a slave to your thoughts?
Maybe there are land mines you step on during conversations that seem to detonate your good mood or ruin an entire day. Everything could be going fine until a particular topic or trigger is touched, then, “Boom!”—your mood instantly changes. Wrestling internally with painful thoughts, you feel unable to move forward with the same joy or laughter. Those negative thoughts will continually disrupt positive conversations, wreak havoc on good days, and sabotage relationships if not challenged and addressed.
If that controlling thought comes in and you haven’t figured out how to move past it or how to break its control, take heart. God’s Word holds the answer. In it, He’s provided us with mighty weapons to conquer these thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:4) so we don’t need to live like victims to them.
If you feel enslaved by ideas or beliefs that run contrary to what God says, take them captive by forcing them to submit to what God says on the matter. How? Renew your mind by staying in God’s Word, and as our hearts become established in His Word and His truths, those thoughts lose their power.
Maybe you struggle with believing you’re forgiven or trusting you’re worthy of love. God’s Word works to shatter those misbeliefs. It cuts open lies and exposes them for what they are. If a thought tries to establish a stronghold in your mind, hold its feet to the fire of God’s Word until it bows in obedience. Consider God’s Word the final say!
