In high school, my grades tended to hover around a B minus on average. When I went on to paramedic school, I was a bit worried. The amount of information I needed to process seemed overwhelming.
I remember asking Holy Spirit to help me study. As I would thank Him and pray in the Spirit, I found that my mind would focus. Before each test I would quiet myself, believing for His guidance and leading. I know that He brought things back to my memory, helping me to achieve a surprising A plus regularly!
When attending to crises on the job, Holy Spirit helped me continually. I remember one instance when my team and I attended to a motor vehicle accident involving several people. As I walked around the accident scene, I came to an injured man who was lying on his stomach. Our team had stabilized his neck and had followed the right protocol to roll him onto his back, but for some reason my stomach knotted. Instantly I asked them to stop.
I pulled on my gloves and slowly reached my hand under his abdomen, moving from the upper to the lower. As I did, my hands sank into damaged tissue. I reached my other hand around him to hold his abdomen in as they rolled him over. His lower abdomen had been cut from one side of his torso to the other. Had I not listened to that feeling, this man ‘s internal organs and bowels would have spilled onto the ground as he was rolled over. Holy Spirit had worked through me to save him from weeks of recovery and possibly death from infection.
What do you need help with? Ask Holy Spirit and quiet your mind to hear His leading. You will be amazed at how He makes you better… more like the ‘you’ that you were always meant to be!
