Holy Spirit Changes Us Profoundly

Leon FontaineDevoted

Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Acts 2:43 (NKJV)

When the disciples were filled with Holy Spirit, they changed profoundly. Three specific changes happened to them in a split second in the upper room on the Day of Pentecost:

  1. They understood God’s plan and Jesus’ ministry. When the disciples were baptized with Holy Spirit, revelation hit. They instantly understood all that Jesus had taught them—three and a half years of teaching became crystal clear and they began to teach about the risen Jesus. The church exploded when the Gospel became mixed with the power of Holy Spirit.
  2. They became extremely bold. All but one of the disciples hid in fear when Jesus was being put to death, yet after being filled with Holy Spirit they were whipped, beaten and imprisoned and yet Christ. The power they received from Holy Spirit overcame any fear that held them back.
  3. God performed instantaneous supernatural miracles through them—as a confirmation of what they preached. The disciples had no ability to stand strong for Jesus before being filled with Holy Spirit, but after Holy Spirit filled them they had access to a power that was supernatural. It went well beyond what they were naturally able to do on their own.

Holy Spirit hasn’t changed. Becoming filled with Holy Spirit today still brings revelation, boldness and miracles. Have you asked Him to fill you?
