He’s There To Help, Always

Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. Acts 16:6-7 (NKJV)

Over the past few days, we’ve been expanding on the Amplified version of John 14:26 which gives us seven names for Holy Spirit to help us understand how He works in our lives. One of the names we’re given is Helper, because Holy Spirit is always there to walk with us and guide us through the circumstances of life.

Sometimes we hesitate to ask for help because we’re afraid of what people are going to want in return. Holy Spirit helps with no strings attached. Other times, we hesitate to ask because we want others to see us as independent and strong. Holy Spirit wants us to ask Him for help. In fact, there is no way that we can follow all of God’s plans for our lives without His help!

In today’s verse, Holy Spirit helped Paul by leading him to where he needed to go. Maybe you’re in a situation where you think you’re beyond help. It’s not true. Holy Spirit can help. Sometimes He’ll do it by giving you an inner strength, peace or sense of direction. Or like in today’s verse: He makes you uncomfortable with the direction you’re going or what you’re doing and you know you need to change things. Other times, He brings people across your path when you least expect it—people who say or do just the right thing, even they had no way of knowing that you needed help.

Never forget that your Father God loves you and His Spirit is always there to help!
